275 currently enrolled (up from 95 in 1995). Very few graduates. Most
(50 to 60%) students are already employed and take specific courses
to up-grade their skills. The students in the program that are new to
the industry find jobs in many related fields: multimedia, desktop publishing,
technical communications, commercial art, printing, etc. Mr. Stewart
says the enthusiasm his program has seen (34% growth over last year)
is largely due to interest in Desktop Publishing and Digital Imaging
courses.

25 majors and 19 minors currently enrolled. Program started in September
1993. First graduate in May 1996. The program provides students with a
broad exposure to both conventional and digital aspects of printing. Dr.
Waite says once a student understands how to shrink and spread through
contacting, lay mechanical screens or cut rubylith masks, then they can
better understand how software applications accomplish these tasks.
